Respite Care

First hospice consultation providing guidance and support to the patient

Every caregiver needs a break. We offer respite care – temporary placement of a patient in our facility for up to 5 days to allow relatives to recover.

Respite care is a level of care that hospice provides specifically to support families or caregivers of patients living in a private home. This format allows the patient to temporarily stay up to 5 days in a skilled nursing home, giving loved ones the time they need for self-care or personal affairs. As part of this program, we also cover meals, accommodation and transportation to and from the facility.

This service allows relatives to take care of themselves, knowing that their loved one is in good hands.

Free Initial Consultation / In-Home Assessment

The first step in the journey of care is the most important. That’s why at Golden Age Hospice Care, we offer a free initial consultation and in-home assessment to provide family support from the very first moments.

During your visit with our coordinator or nurse, you will receive:

A comprehensive assessment of the patient's physical, emotional and living situation, taking into account medical data, living conditions, and available means of assistance.

Individualized advice on further care: what methods can reduce pain, how to arrange the room for comfort, what resources or services may be useful.

Creation of a personalized care plan that takes into account not only medical but also psychological, spiritual and social aspects. We adapt care to your lifestyle and family rhythm.

All family questions are answered openly, attentively and without haste. We will explain each stage, allay fears and help you make an informed decision.

This approach has a powerful positive effect:

It reduces stress at a critical time when families often don't know where to start.

It gives a sense of control and confidence because everyone knows what to do next and who to entrust with care.

It lays the foundation for trusting relationships, which is the basis of quality hospice care.

This service is not just a formality. It is our way of saying: “We are with you. We hear you. And we have already started to care.”

Veteran Programs

At Golden Age Hospice Care, we treat each and every veteran with special respect. Our Veterans Support Program is designed to provide comprehensive, personalized care tailored to the specific experiences of military service.

Serving in the military is a profound experience that often leaves a mark on a veteran’s physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. Veterans living in the U.S. face challenges resulting from post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, traumatic brain injury, or military-related illnesses. That is why a hospice care facility focused on the needs of veterans should take these aspects into account.

As part of our program, we offer an individualized approach that includes: physical therapy, emotional counseling, pain management, music, art and animation therapy. We work closely with the VA and other resources to ensure that patients receive all available support.

Our goal is not only to alleviate symptoms, but also to restore a sense of dignity, safety, and appreciation for their service. We also support families by providing grief counseling for up to 13 months after the loss of a loved one to help them through the adjustment process.

Music / Art / Aromatherapy

Therapies that heal not only the body but also the soul. At Golden Age Hospice Care, we strongly believe in the power of art, music, and scents as tools to help you find inner peace, ease pain, and restore a sense of harmony.

Music therapy

Is more than just sounds. It evokes memories, calms an anxious mind, and creates a sense of security. Melodies can take a person back to pleasant moments in the past, bring a smile or even tears of relief. Our licensed music therapists use individualized music selections, singing, improvisation, and listening to support the patient's emotional well-being.

Art therapy

Opens up a space for self-expression, especially when words are difficult to convey what you feel. Drawings, paints, collages, or clay allow you to release emotions, find inner peace, and symbolically "rethink" your experience. Art therapy often helps patients feel more in control, more creative, and reduce psychological stress.

Aromatherapy

Works through one of the deepest senses - the sense of smell. Natural essential oils of lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, or citrus can reduce stress, improve sleep, calm breathing, and even reduce physical pain. Aromatic diffusers or soft massage with oils create an atmosphere of comfort and grounding.

Together, these therapies help you feel alive, valued, and heard again – even in the most difficult moments. This is care that not only heals, but also fills you with light from within.

Pet Therapy

Pets are more than just pets. They are a source of unconditional love, warmth and joy that we often underestimate. As part of the Pet Therapy program at Golden Age Hospice Care, we invite certified therapy animals – usually dogs – to bring relief, calmness and sincere joy to patients.

These visits are so much more than just a nice companionship. They have a profoundly positive impact:

Pet Therapy is especially valuable for patients who have lost the meaning of everyday life or feel lonely. A dog’s loving eyes, warm nose in the palm of your hand, or a joyful swish of the tail is sometimes exactly what brings back the desire to live this day.

Memory Preservation (Life Review / Story Recording)

Every life is a unique story that deserves to be heard and preserved. At Golden Age Hospice Care, we help patients rethink, articulate and record their life journey. This process not only preserves the memory for descendants, but also has a deep emotional and therapeutic value for the person.

Our specialists support patients in the format of:

Individual conversations about key moments, achievements, joys and challenges in life. We ask warm, open-ended questions that help people feel valued.

Audio and video recordings of stories where the patient can share memories, values, and wishes for children, grandchildren, or future generations. This turns into a real "living legacy".

Creative ways of capturing memory: photo albums, letters, hereditary messages, family books - all of these can be designed as a gift for relatives or as a source of inspiration in the last days.

This process has an extremely positive impact:

Emotional relief and peace of mind: rethinking the journey, accepting the experience and talking through important topics often helps patients achieve inner harmony and reduce anxiety.

Strengthening ties with family: loved ones have the opportunity to learn more about their parents or grandparents, feel their journey more deeply, and understand the meaning of certain decisions in life.

Forming a legacy: it is a way to pass on not only facts, but also spirit, values, humor, dreams, and guidance. For the family, it becomes a priceless memory that lives on even after the loss.

The Memory Preservation program is our way of honoring each life and making it a part of the family history. Because even the simplest life is a profound story worth leaving in the world.
